About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.  I received my counseling degree from San Francisco State University in 2011. Since then I have worked with a diverse array of populations with various needs.  I have worked in group home and hospital settings, helping adults and adolescents though extreme cases of depression, anxiety, and relational problems.  From 2017-2022, I worked with Kavod Recovery as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist  (CSAT) helping individuals and couples address destructive compulsive behaviors, heal trauma, and recover from deep betrayals and rifts in relationships.

Much of what I bring to therapy is based upon my own experiences of self cultivation and growth. I have practiced Insight Meditation (Vipassana), a form of mindfulness, for over 20 years. Additional personal work through my own individual, couples, and group therapies has further helped me to develop understanding and wisdom as it relates to our human condition.  At its core, therapy is about changing the ways we relate - how we relate to others, our emotions, our past, our hopes, and all the different parts of ourselves.

I am a lifelong learner and one of the things I love about being a therapist is that I get to continually learn more and develop new skills.  I have been trained in multiple modalities -  including EMDR, Developmental Couple’s Therapy, and Sex and Porn Addiction treatment. I also have experience utilizing Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  You can read more about some of my specializations here.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I received a Master’s degree in Buddhist Studies from the California Institute for Integral Studies (2007); and a Bachelor's degree with majors in both Physics and Religious Studies from Bucknell University (2003).
